My 3 Favorite Heat Protection Sprays for Hair – Ranking

Do you use heat protectants for hair regularly? I’m very happy if you nod. If you don’t, I hope you’ll start using one after reading this post. Some people think it’s an unnecessary expense but they’re wrong. Heat is one of the most damaging factors for hair. One product is able to prevent damage and make the hair look its best at one go! In today’s article I’m rounding up my favorite thermal protection products.

Which product to choose for protecting the hair from heat?

Sprays are the most popular for sure. I like and use them the most often. There are so many of them on the cosmetic market that I’m sure everyone will find the right one with good ingredients, reasonable price, and, above all else, working great. Sprays are also very easy to use and take little time, plus they don’t leave any residue on the hair.

Milks and creams belong to another group. I’ve tried several of them but only one was worthwhile. Naturally, they fulfill the same role, namely, protecting the hair from high temperatures. However, the application takes more time, you smudge your hands and may spread the product unevenly.

My list of top heat protectants includes two sprays and one cream. I use the one ranked first the most often but the other two are great as well so the choice is up to you. Regular application is the most important. Even the best product won’t keep your locks safe if you use it once a month.

[My number one] Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray

Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray

Nanoil’s spray is my absolute favorite! Without any doubts, I recommend it for any hair. It’s really the best choice. I told all my friends about Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray, they use it, and see eye to eye: this thermo spray works brilliantly. It’s the only product which has managed to improve my locks greatly. It can be used before every type of styling, blow-drying, curling, straightening or even braiding. Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray has multiple functions, fulfilling each one equally effectively. It protects from 430℉/220℃ but there’s much more you can count on. I’ve noticed my hair isn’t as dry as it used to be, and it looks much better; it’s smooth, free from frizz and static, and shines dazzlingly. I’m sure such amazing effects flow from the carefully-chosen ingredients like silk-derived proteins. Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray is very easy to use and I rate it for lasting really long despite using it every day. It also has a good price and wonderful smell. Nanoil’s spray is a must-have in my hair care routine!

[My number two] Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Spray

I like it that the product is available in two sizes, 60 or 250 ml. I first bought a smaller bottle but now have a bigger one. I recommend starting with a smaller volume because it’s not a one-size-fits-all product like Nanoil. Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective works brilliantly on my hair! It sinks in instantly and doesn’t overload the hair. However, I know that it may prove too heavy for fine or short hair because of the composition – you’ll either love it or hate it depending on your hair type. It may leave hair stringy or even greasy because it’s rich in six vegetable oils. Naturally, the oils bring many benefits so the spray guards the strands from heat but also adds resilience, hydration and smoothness. Given the price, I suggest trying it yourself. It’s good to have the travel-size version in a beauty bag.

[My number three] Kerastase Chronologiste Thermique Regenerant

The third position is taken by a heat protectant cream, not spray. An offering from Kerastase really does well, but I think it would do even better if it was in form of a spray. It protects the hair from 446℉/230℃. Unfortunately I can use it only on wet hair before blow-drying because it’s hard to spread it evenly across dry strands and it slightly weighs them down. Still, it works great for blow-drying, and I use the dryer nearly every day. Kerastase Chronologiste Thermique Regenerant is rich in vitamin E and hyaluronic acid so it additionally leaves the hair hydrated, shiny and smooth. All in all, I prefer sprays because they’re more convenient in daily hair care routine. As far as this cream goes, I need to get the proper amount and make sure I distribute it evenly all over the hair. Also, Kerastase Chronologiste Thermique Regenerant is only 150 ml and has a high price.
