How do you know you’re using the wrong foundation? Signs that you need to deal with immediately

Hi there!

In my opinion, a foundation is one of the most essential products in my beauty bag. It can completely change the look, even out the skin texture and shade and make us younger-looking. However, everything changes when the foundation has been selected incorrectly. Keep on reading to learn how to determine it and how to deal with it.

Streaks and stains on the face

If there are streaks or stains on your face, it means that you have chosen the wrong shade of foundation. It may also indicate an incorrect application or that you are using an old (or dirty) brush. What to do in such a situation? Use a foundation that will match the yellow or pink undertones of your skin. The cosmetic in cold tone will be perfect for pink complexion, and the foundation with a warm tone – will be perfect for a yellowish complexion. How to check if this foundation is for you? If you are hesitating between two shades, apply them both to the jaw (not to the palm of your hand) and wait a few minutes. The one that will be less visible is just right for you.

Blemishes on the face

Acne, blackheads, zits, pimples…? If new imperfections appear on your face after each application of the foundation, it’s time to react! Perhaps the heavy formula or chemical composition of the foundation are the causes of your skin worsening condition. Imperfections could also arise due to inaccurate makeup removal. Can you get rid of them? Sure! The first thing to do it is to throw out the foundation, which caused the appearance of pimples and blackheads. I will not mention a visit to a dermatologist’s, because it is an obvious solution. And what about the foundation? It’s best to go for mineral and natural cosmetics, which remain on the surface of the skin and do not clog the pores of the skin. Also, remember about an everyday and very thorough makeup removal.

Enlarged skin pores

Some products have such a heavy formula that they accumulate in the skin pores and fine lines. Effect? All imperfections suddenly become more visible! How to fix it? In this case, you will need a foundation with a lighter formula and a good-quality makeup primer. In addition, cleansing and exfoliating dead skin cells will be a good solution to this problem. You might want to try out some brightening or highlighting cosmetics?

What about you, girls? What kinds of problems does your foundation cause? Do you have a go-to product for flawless skin?
