Have you ever had a beauty product recommended, bought it, and it totally failed?
I’m sure we’ve all been there!
Unfortunately, if someone is happy with a cosmetic and recommends it, it doesn’t mean it’s going to work cool for you too. It may even work for all of your friends and family, but may prove to do more harm than good for your hair or skin.
A facial serum is a good example. Vitamin C has an amazing effect on skin, but we need a proper form of it. I want to help you choose the right one for your skin. I’ll share serums that suit sensitive, rosacea-prone, aging and acne-prone complexions, but also healthy and “normal” skin. Keep reading!
1. Nanoil Vitamin C Face Serum
Skin type/issues: healthy skin, sensitive skin, broken capillaries and redness, dryness, oily skin, signs of aging
Many skin experts recommend Nanoil’s vitamin C face serum. It’s labelled one-size-fits-all because of working well on all types of skin. It didn’t irritate my hypersensitive skin. My face was perfectly moisturized and way smoother after the first use. It gives an amazing glow too. The longer I use it, the better my skin gets. Firstly, it made nearly all of my pigmentation marks fade. The face isn’t as hot-red as it used to because the serum evened out the skin tone. Nanoil offers Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and I’ve read it’s the best form of vitamin C because despite the strong effect on the skin, it remains gentle and doesn’t trigger irritations. The serum also includes the Punarnava plant extract which boosts the effects produced by vitamin C. The plant is known for antiaging properties, and I noticed my fine lines got smoother! Another positive is the texture allowing fast absorption and leaving no residue. That’s why I like to use it in the morning before applying make-up. The Nanoil serum comes in a bigger bottle than most face serums and I love it because it lasts me long. It’s like a youth elixir for every skin!

2. Olehenriksen Truth Serum
Skin type/issues: dryness, sensitive skin, broken capillaries, signs of aging
It’s like an illuminating and antiaging potion. It made my face glow beautifully after the first use. I love the effect! I know, though, girls with oily skin don’t like it that much. On the other hand, I’m sure you will all love the antiaging properties the Olehenriksen Truth Serum boasts. Apart from vitamin C, there’s collagen in the formula, which gives us a duo to reduce wrinkles, firm up the skin and prevent premature aging. I like the refreshing smell. The citruses in the formula take credit for that. The serum is thick but absorbs quickly. The pump gives a suitable portion for one use. Too bad there’s a negative too. It’s a high price for a small bottle.
3. Clochee Antioxidant Oil Serum With Vit. C
Skin type/issues: oily skin, combination skin, normal skin
Clochee Antioxidant Oil Serum With Vit. C is made for oily and problematic complexions but it worked surprisingly well for my skin. The formula is simple and mostly made from vegetable oils: almond oil, jojoba oil and plum seed oil are the most important. It left a greasy film at first but then it was no longer the problem because I learned the optimal amount to apply. Still, it does take longer to sink in than other serums I used so it was my night serum. It would always give me a perfectly-moisturized and fresh-looking face. It also made the redness and dryness fade. The manufacturer says we can use the serum alone, without a moisturizer or cream. I took that advice and liked to use it when I was tired or busy. The Clochee serum has a good price and standard 30-ml volume.
4. Purito Anti-Wrinkle Serum
Skin type/issues: aging skin, acne
Time for a hit for acne-prone skin but also aging skin with wrinkles. Vitamin C is enriched with hyaluronic acid. The Purito serum focuses on firming and repairing the skin. Over time it reduces wrinkles and stimulates production of collagen. It also has an antibacterial effect and I must admit I wasn’t worried about new zits when I used this serum. It’s said to reduce the dark circles under the eyes but I haven’t noticed that effect. The product comes in a 60-ml bottle and has a good price. The applicator tends to give too much serum but I usually spread it on the neck and the problem is solved. The thing I don’t like is that it must be stored in the fridge but beauty requires sacrifices, right?
The reviews are based on my tests but also comments from my friends, family and girls posting reviews on the Internet. I’m sure each of you will find a suitable product. There are tons of different face serums but I share only the best ones.
Let me know about the vitamin C serum you use!
